Music leaves rockers marriage | news.com.au Australias leading news site

THE music has left the marriage of rocker Jon Stevens, with the former Noiseworks frontman splitting from his wife of nearly two decades.

The marriage is believed to have been strained for some time, and while the exuberant rocker is said to be pained by the recent separation from wife Tracey, it hasn't stopped reports of Stevens's possible new romance reaching Confidential.

The one-time INXS singer was spotted looking "very cosy'' with advertising legend John Singleton's ex wife Julie Singleton at the Watsons Bay hotel on Monday.

According to a source claiming to know the pair, Stevens and former divorce lawyer Singleton were openly hugging and kissing as they spent the public holiday lunching with friends at the harbourside venue.

"They are both quite taken with each other but I'm not saying anything more - I'll be killed,'' the insider said.

Singleton, who became the larakkin adman's sixth marriage casualty when they divorced late last year, confirmed she had been at the pub with Stevens but was amused by suggestions of a romance.

"He's a lovely guy, but no, unfortunately I'm not seeing him,'' Singleton told Confidential.

"If there's something going on sadly I didn't know about it.''

However Stevens was more cryptic when he offered the comment "ask Julie'' through his manager yesterday.

A proud family man, Stevens is said to be slowly healing following his failed marriage with Tracey - the mother of his two teenage children Millie and Levi.

The ex-couple sold their palatial Seaforth family home for $1.5 million last year, with Stevens downsizing to a three bedroom apartment in Bronte in December.
